Birthed out of a desire to create an innovative childcare for young children in Hamilton, this centre has received international admiration for the design philosophy that places a focus on relationships and creativity. Equipped with dedicated art, water and sensory studios, children are free to engage in a range of spaces to extend their desire to grow and learn. Add to this a team that are passionate about going the extra-mile and you have a very special place for children and families to be a part off

A dinosaur recieving High-quality first aid in our Kindy room 🦕🚑💚
We are so grateful to have parents and teachers who are willing to sacrifice their Saturday to come and give some TLC to our centre! After some hard work, House of Wonder looks clean and fresh ready to be well-loved by the tamariki again, with walls and decks repainted, some fresh bark and lots of new plants. Nursery was rearranged, cleaned and a new truck-play area set up. Kindy now has a lovely mud kitchen for lots of creative cooking. The toddler art studio was cleaned out and tidied up and the toddler/Nursery bathroom now has a beautiful hanging garden.

Play is really the work of childhood." - Fred Rogers We have a group of 4 year old boys that keep coming back to the concept of travel and road and vehicle design. They get so much enjoyment from it, and at the same time create beautiful intricate worlds that come straight out of their imagination, through the lense of their life experiences.
For Mothers Day the children made bath bombs for the special people in their life who fill up the bath for them 💕

At the heart of our philosophy you will find the belief that learning happens within the context of strong meaningful relationships. We have low ratios and practice primary caregiving, allowing teachers to connect deeply and work at a slow, loving pace. In our nursery space we provide physically safe, emotionally nurturing and a cognitively challenging environment. Visually our spaces have minimal clutter, open spaces for uninterrupted play and freedom to explore and interact with their peers and surroundings. By providing open-ended resources and heuristic play opportunities which are sourced from the 'real world' e.g. baskets, shells, rocks, bowls, utensils etc. We encourage children to play creatively and in depth. #rie #reggio #houseofwonderchartwell

At House of Wonder we believe in the wonder of connection. Relationship is central to all learning. This morning our kindy room hosted delicious breakfast for the whole centre to honour all our mums! Each learning studio created gifts for children to gift to their mum. Wishing you all a restful weekend and Mother’s Day! Ra wahine toa 💕
